The Evolution of Face Painting

Facepainting has evolved. What started out as simple cheek art being drawn on with paint "crayons" as turned into a true art form.  Of course, we still face paint “cheek art” (or forehead, arm, shoulder etc.). However, with training & precision brushes—even our cheek art can be quite spectacular!
The facepainting team at Facial Expressions spend a great deal of time & money investing in their craft and in the tools of the trade - and it shows!

Professional and Insured

All our face painters use FDA approved  face paints & glitter. We strictly adhere to the guidelines provided by Alberta Health Services & our insurance providers. Facial Expressions Calgary-based team of insured, professional face painting artists continue to develop their face painting skills by attending workshops, taking lesssons, & getting together on a regular basis to "Jam", i.e. teach each other.

As well, our face painters have attended many adult birthdays, stagettes, Calgary night clubs, dances, corporate Christmas parties & other celebrations in Calgary & nearby communities near Calgary, such as Airdrie, Okotoks, Langdon, Cochrane, Banff, Strathmore and High River.  For some great ideas for tween, teen & adult birthdays, stagettes, dances, & celebrations please check out our GLOW Painting, Glitter, Airbrush & Henna Tattoos pages.

Recommendations for Rookies

For children who have never had their faces painted before, we recommend that the first experience should happen on their arm, rather than their faces. We find that even older children who normally turn down face art, will be quite comfortable & pleased with a design on their arms.
